Stream 1: Panel discussion: Measuring the success and benefits of public procurement policies in line with government objectives

Ms Racheal Kuczma was appointed as Assistant Secretary Materiel Procurement Branch of Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) within Defence in 2016. CASG is responsible for the delivery of Defence Capability to the ADF Capability Managers to meet Government’s objectives, including support to operations. The role of Materiel Procurement Branch is to provide critical commercial support to capability to the war fighter through: the provision of high quality, timely specialist commercial, procurement and contracting solutions to CASG throughout the procurement/capability lifecycle; and the development and management of procurement policy and commercial professionalisation for Defence.

Racheal has over 15 years experience working in Defence in a variety of commercial roles. Highlights include: acting as the lead commercial advisor to the Future Submarine Program during the negotiations of the Strategic Partnering Agreement; performing the role of Director of Contracting Operations for the North America region, supporting Defence projects from the US Embassy in Washington DC; and acting as the Earned Value Management Specialist for a major helicopter acquisition project, as part of the resident team based in the south of France. Racheal has a Bachelor of Commerce/ Bachelor of Asian Studies, from the Australian National University She is a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Racheal is married to John and they have a son.
