The CIPS Australasia Conference and Supply Management Awards will take place as scheduled on 29 - 30 July 2020 at ICC Sydney.

CIPS and Haymarket Media Group (who deliver events on behalf of CIPS) are following the current guidance from the local Government and the World Health Organisation and as such this event will be taking place as planned. Marli Smith

Marli is an experienced procurement and supply chain leader with international experience in the defence, oil, gas and mining industries.

Since joining ASC in 2017, as the Head of Procurement, Marli has been responsible for the leadership of ASC’s Procurement capability in support of Australia’s Collins Class Submarine (CCSM) fleet.

Sustainment of Australia’s CCSM fleet is critical to the nation’s defence capabilities, with the fleet remaining in service until the 2030’s, after which the Attack Class submarines will progressively replace the Collins Class fleet.

ASC’s procurement capability supports all submarine maintenance activities in Adelaide, Perth and for deployed boats internationally, in pursuit and achievement of beyond benchmark global performance.

Prior to joining ASC, Marli held senior procurement and supply chain roles at companies including Santos and Anglo American. Marli attained her legal degree at the University of South Africa.
