People are a passion for Lisa. Her curiosity about what is important to people has shaped her determination to build high performing teams. She believes the key to success is the strength of its team, ensuring all voices are listened to without judgement, which generates an environment for creative ideas.
She is a Design Thinking enthusiast and uses its principles to co-create, as that’s where the “magic” comes from. It is because of this passion that Lisa has taken a lead role in developing an organisational program to address awareness and a change in culture. It’s goal is to ensure that diversity and inclusion is led from the heart, and all individuals are empowered to have the confidence to be their whole selves at work.
Lisa is currently leading Spark’s New Zealand procurement function, which over the last 8 months especially, has offered a sizable challenge, as Lisa has helped guide the business through a full organisational transformation into Agile. The skills required to adapt to these changes has been a result of working in a number of roles in both the Finance and Information Technology sectors over the last 15+ years.
Lisa brings an authentic leadership style, and has prided herself on using each role to constantly refine her skills, by using reflection and the gift of feedback to drive excellence. She believes by always ensuring the customer is held as the ‘North Star’, it can define and strengthen a market leading organisation., which procurement can help deliver by enabling the business to build strong sustainable relationships with its suppliers.
Lisa immigrated from South Africa in 1996, she has two young boys who both constantly put her negotiation skills to the test.
