Craig Lardner is recognized as one of Australia leading experts on Procurement for both private and public sector, both state and federal. In 2011 he formed Procurement Advisory Services…an independent procurement consulting enterprise to help us all buy better in our businesses…and even in our personal lives!
He first qualified in accounting and joined the BOC Gases group starting his career as a cadet with foundation roles in Commercial, Logistics, then Sales and Marketing. Executive roles followed in Customer Service, Industrial retailing and then Procurement 1997 saw him move to the London office as Global Director of Procurement for BOC. He travelled the world extensively for 10 years focusing on supply and procurement techniques across the world on all continents.
While working in London he was selected in Europe’s top 20 procurement leaders After returning home to Australia in 2007 he was appointed Group Procurement Director of George Weston Foods where the goal was to transform their procurement function, build capability, bring best practice and ethical sourcing. Now in his own enterprise he has become a subject matter expert in procurement practices, sourcing techniques, change management, tools, processes, policies, ethics and people capabilities. He is a Business coach and mentor to young professionals and is a facilitator on Innovation and Risk management While in GWF that were the winner of ‘Australia’s best’ Procurement’ in food and beverage industry A year later he was their Leadership Coach of the year In 2011 they received both CIPS awards for – Best People development program, and Most Improved Procurement Operation Craig is a Guest lecturer at Universities, public sector and Industry seminars (Australia and Europe) on the practitioners approach to modern procurement.
He is a Fellow of CIPS …the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply 2012 he was elected as Congress member to the global London based CIPS Congress …3 year term In 2014 he was appointed Global President of CIPS, the first Australian to hold this post in its 80 year history In 2015 he was appointed to The Board and…Don’t play offside, he’s an FA football referee …and…Don’t play across your stumps…he’s also a cricket umpire.
